Public Meetings

In the interest of transparency and openness, this City Commission asked staff immediately upon taking office in January 2011 to explore the possibility of videotaping all of our meetings and making those videos available online to the public. I have personally recorded our first two June 2011 work sessions and posted the full meetings on this site. Staff started recording the meetings themselves on June 20th, and those videos can be viewed at the City's website (http://www.frankfort.ky.gov/city-commission-video-recordings-2011.html). Due to the limitations of YouTube, I've had to break the meetings up into roughly 15-minute segments, but the City should be able to start posting larger complete videos soon without breaking them up. The legislative process isn't always pretty or exciting, but I believe this process and the public can only benefit from increased transparency.
